Ellie's First Visit with Santa

Ellie had her first visit with Santa today. We went to Santa's house in downtown Crystal Lake. We missed seeing him last year because we waited too long and then the whole family came down with the stomach flu the week before Christmas. Don't want that again, it was a nightmare!!! We had to wait in the cold wind for about 30 minutes. Elle really liked Santa from afar but up close was another story. She was okay until Daddy put her on Santa's lap. She cried immediately. Daddy came to the rescue and pulled her off and knelt down beside Santa to get a picture of the 3 of them. Ellie was most excited about the sucker Santa gave her. It was her first sucker she's ever eaten and boy was it yummy. It was a mini cherry tootsie pop. She loved it! Here are some pictures of our wait for and time with Santa.

It snowed close to a foot a little over a week ago. We have tried to get Ellie outside to play in the snow but she just hasn't been interested in it. This is the first time she has really touched snow before. Last year we tried but she hated it and cried when we set her down in the snow. I was worried her hands were freezing today but she didn't want to stop touching it. Go figure!!!

Here is Ellie meeting Santa for the first time. She was okay at this point. All heck broke loose when Daddy tried to put her on Santa's lap. She immediately started to cry and Daddy pulled her off.

This is the picture we finally got after Daddy picked Ellie up and held her next to Santa. Molly got in on the fun too! How cute! All in all, not bad for our first meeting with Santa!
